Overviews:
A worker has been injured or feels faint in the workplace: what should you do to help? While waiting for the emergency services, the first aider is the first link in the emergency chain. Become a first aider: learn the basics of first aid and strengthen your ability and confidence to act in emergency situations.
The First aid at work - initial training in 2 dayq enables employees to acquire the knowledge and core skills required under the Belgian Code on Well-Being at Work.
Objectives:
- Understand your role as a First Aid Officer in the workplace.
- Assess the severity of the situation and determine wheter emergency services are needed or not.
- Support vital functions and provide adequate first aid in a life-threatening situation, recognize a serious medical condition or injury.
Content :
This training is organised by the Belgian Red Cross as an accredited company by SPF Employment, Labor, and Social Dialogue.
The course consists od two full days (consecutive or non-consecutive), totalling 15 hours of theoritical and practical training, covering:
2-day course (consecutive or not), 15 hours of theory and practice:
- Legal framework
- Basic rules for first aid (112 call)
- Assessment of vital signs
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and defibrillation
- Recovery position, Rollover technique
- Severe Bleeding
- Choking
- Chest pain
- Respiratory distress
- Neurological problems
- Head/Spine injuries
- Injuries to the limbs
- Feeling unwell
- Serious wounds
- Serious burns
- Poisoning
- First Aid Kit
Upon successful completion of the continuous assessment, participants will receive their First Aid Certificate.
En pratique
Duration: 2 full days, consecutive or not - 15 hours
Methodology: Role plays with make-up, group activitites, practical exercices, discussions and exchange
Validity: the validity of this certificate is subject to the completion of an annual refresher training course of at least 4 hours
Audience: Everyone who wants to become an occupational first aider.
Organisation :
Inter-company sessions: in venues booked by the Belgian Red Cross. Maximum 4 participants from the dame organisation.

Price per individual participation: € 270.00
To register participants, please return the registration form available in the Schedule section below. Registration is confirmed once our administrative team has replied by email, either confirming or declining the requested date depending on repmainng availability. This information should be passed on the participant.

In-company sessions: organised either on-site for a group (from 4 to 12 participants maximum) or in one of our training rooms
A room of min. 40m², without tables fixed on the ground, furnished with a beamer, a whiteboard (screen or white wall), and a flipchart. If possible, a parking slot will be provided for our instructor

Cancellation policy extracted from our general terms and conditions of sale :
“3.2 In the event of cancellation or rescheduling of the training at the Client’s request, or if the Client fails to attend the training, compensation will be claimed as follows:
- Within 5 calendar days before the first day of training: 100% of the training fee is due
- Between 6 and 14 calendar days before the first day of training: 80% of the training fee is due
- Between 15 and 29 calendar days before the first day of training: 30% of the training fee is due”
